Saturday, December 10, 2016 Randy Pease CD Release Concert

randy-pease-promo-1000pxPlease join us as we welcome our friend and New Harmony, Indiana based songwriter Randy Pease at his Evansville CD Release party for “Old Dog … New Tricks”. This is Randy’s fourth studio release of original songs, following 1997’s “Call Me Ishmael”, 2002’s “Sometimes the Moon” and his 2010 release, “Prodigal Sunshine”.

This is a rare opportunity, because while Randy can be heard locally with Harmony Road and The Flatheads, he seldom performs solo with a focus on his original material. It’s also an unusual house concert for us because we usually don’t host local performers (our focus is on bringing artists from outside the area), but Randy is not only a fine songwriter whose songs have achieved critical acclaim, but a good friend whom we think deserves wider exposure. This is a rare opportunity to hear many of Randy’s original songs, performed live, in an intimate setting.

A writer by trade and guitar slinger by vocation, Randy started his career as a performing songwriter in Stillwater, Oklahoma during the formative years of the “Red Dirt” sound, a blend of folk, blues and rock that is celebrated in the documentary, North of Austin/West of Nashville: Red Dirt Music. Randy’s music has received critical and popular acclaim, with “The Ballad of Rosalee” holding the #1 slot on the Texas Music chart in 2011, and his song “I Love This Game” performed by Monica Taylor on Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion”.

This will be the second time Randy has performed on the Cabin stage, having released his 2nd CD with us in 2002 to a packed house and sold-out show. We’re looking forward to this show, and just as a warning, you might see Tim’s mandolin come out a couple times since Randy’s been a musical partner of his over the past 16 years. You can learn more about Randy on his website.

Seat reservations are $15 and the doors open at 7pm, with the music starting at 8pm. You will also be able to purchase Randy’s new CD at a very special price that will only be available to attendees on the night of the show. We’ll put out some wine and lemonade along with a few treats, and you are welcome to bring something to share or just for yourself. We enjoy making these events very special, and the camaraderie during the evening makes it even more so. Please come join us for this very special show!
