Everybody knows them as “The Spuds”, but don’t confuse them with a starchy, carb-filled side-dish. They’re a buffet of magic, taking you on a journey through the lives of people and places painted in their songs.
Rich Prezioso and Jacquie Manning are the best of the best. They have played the cabin more than any other performers, and every single show has been a sell-out well in advance of the night of the show (that means you need to book fast!). They are incredibly entertaining performers, both are inspiring songwriters who easily draw you into their world of humor and heart. They’ll take you from laughter to tears quicker than the Red Line will get you from Part Street to Downtown Crossing. Oh, wait. I’m not in Boston anymore. Well, trust me, that’s really fast.
Twenty-one years ago, Jacquie Manning and Rich Prezioso, the Chicago-area duo known as Small Potatoes, decided to hit the road. “In one year, we quit our jobs, bought a house, bought a car, and became full-time folk singers–not exactly the greatest combination, financially speaking, or what most people would call a sound business model. We didn’t throw darts at a map, but we might as well have.”
They might not have had the best plan, but what they did have were great songs and musicianship, and the ability to put on a show. After nineteen years, a million and a half miles and 3500 shows (not to mention five Dodge Caravans…) they are listed as a “favorite act” by many coffeehouses, clubs and house concerts across the U.S. They have made repeat appearances at major folk festivals, including the Kerrville Folk Festival, the Walnut Valley Festival, and the Philadelphia Folk Festival.
The doors will open at 7pm and the performance begins at 8pm. We’ll have some snacks out on the table, our lemonade, and a bit of wine and you’re also welcome to bring something to share. As with all of our shows, you must reserve your seats in advance. Seats will be $15 and all of the funds go directly to the artist. Remember that we only have 25 seats available, so please reserve yours early. We do sell out on most shows. Reserve your seats here.
